FAQ's
Tanning Beds
-
I'm not sure if I have enough space for a tanning bed?
Stop into our showrooms and select a model with the features you like. We'll do a site inspection to make sure it will fit and electrical is available. We have standup tanning booths and wall units that take up less room than a bed does.
-
Do they need a special electrical service?
Yes, some do. We have many models that plug into a standard 110 volt receptacle. Some larger units require a 20 amp 110 volt circuit. We are electricians. If a service is needed, we can help.
-
I'm tall; do you have extra long beds?
Yes. We have 7' long models for taller tanners. Even moderate height tanners like the 7' tanning beds.
-
Are there any health benefits?
Besides looking great, a tan can provide the correct synthesis for producing Vitamin D naturally. Controlled tanning helps in light depravation.
Saunas
-
I'd like a sauna, but I’m not sure where to put it?
We have a sauna for most anywhere in your house, shop or patio. From custom cut units that allow us to transform any room or closet into a sauna, to free standing traditional and far infrared units that fit almost anywhere.
-
I'd like a traditional sauna with rocks and steam. Can I put it indoors?
Yes you can. We have custom units we can build in, or portable units that go most anywhere. In some cases a fan might be needed depending on the size room.
-
Are they 110 volt or 220 volt?
Both. Many of our modular units simply plug into any receptacle. Our larger modular or custom cuts units require a 220 volt electrical service.
-
Who does the wiring?
We do of course. We handle everything, pre-site inspection, installation, and wiring.
-
Are there any real health benefits?
The benefits of a sauna have been known through the ages. A few are: detoxification, cleansing of the skin, deep penetrating heat to soothe sore muscles.
-
When I get in some saunas, it can be hard to breath. Are yours different?
The air temperature versus humidity is the critical factor. Having the right balance of temperature to humidity makes it a much easier to breath. Our traditional saunas have 2 to 3 times the rock mass built in to the heaters allowing the user to transform a lot of water into steam to raise the humidity to a level that works for them.
Many customers who love the benefits of a sauna but just don't like the higher temperatures of a traditional sauna find that our Far Infrared rooms allow them to sweat at a much lower air temperature.
-
I like Traditional Saunas. My wife likes the Far Infrared. Can we get both?
Yes. We have units that have both types of heat sources - Traditional and Far Infrared.
-
Does it cost a lot to run a sauna?
No it doesn't. Even our largest units running an hour a day cost less than $20.00 a month. Our 2 person units cost less than $6.00 a month using an hour a day.

This varies greatly on size of pool to type of cover. A super efficient Swimspa can cost less than $1.50 a day. Where as a large pool can cost thousands of dollars a season. Alternative heating sources such as heat pumps and solar systems can reduce costs greatly.
-
Do you have "salt" pools?
Yes. A salt pool uses slightly salted water (3000 ppm) and when that water goes through a salt/chlorine generator it creates chlorine which then sanitizes the water. Many customers enjoy swimming in this type of salt water pool. Very easy on the eyes and simple to operate.
-
Do you build "swim in place" pools?
Yes we do. Commonly referred to as Swimspas. These pools are smaller and you literally swim in place against a current or a swimming tether. They are perfect for a small backyard or for someone who wants to workout year -round. Our self-contained units can be installed very quickly and there well insulated making them one of the few year around pools that most anyone can afford to use, even in the winter.

Typically a small pool to swim in place or do water aerobics in place. This is an excellent way to go for people who truly want to exercise year-round. Swimming, water aerobics are a perfect low impact way to exercise. A real life changer.
Spas
-
How much is your 4 person spa?
We have new 4 person spas priced below $3000, re-conditioned spas under $2000.
Note: Many people ask us this question because they really don't know what to look for or what should be important in their buying decision. So they ask us the obvious, How many person? and How much? We encourage you to contact us to learn what makes a wise spa purchase. Energy efficiency, sanitization, filtration and warranty weigh heavily in the total cost of ownership.
-
What’s the difference between a hot tub and a spa?
None! Hot tubs were called tubs because originally they were constructed out of wood tub barrels, add some heat and you get “hot tub”.
Hot Spring Spa invented the first portable “spa” over 30 years ago. Much more refined, easier to take care of, multiple types of water therapy jets, lasting durability, and super energy efficiency are the trademark of Hot Spring Spas. Which has made them the largest “Spa/Hot Tub” Company in the world!
-
How much will it cost to operate?
Spas range from $10.00 a month to over $100 a month. Our spas range from $10.00 to $22.00 a month.
What is the long tern cost of ownership? is a better question. A Hot Spring Spa can save you thousands of dollars in operation costs over a ten year period compared to most other brands.
-
How many jets are in your spas?
We have spas with up to 50 jets. The difference in our spas is we have a variety of powerful jets for every part of your body. Even jets that move up and down the length of your back. We don't believe in putting 100 small weak micro-jets in our spas, just so we can say we have 100 jets.
-
Do you have chlorine free spas?
Yes we do! You won't come out of our spa smelling like bleach with our Everfresh Water Care system. Beware many spas on the market require the use of chlorine/bromine because of their poor filtration systems.
-
I want a spa, but I'm not sure how were going toget it in the backyard?
Very simple, just contact us and we'll come out and do a "spa-zone" inspection for free. This spa-zone site inspection covers everything from crane lifts to electrical hoop-up to deck/patio design to color coordination. One call does it all!
-
What is the difference between a 110 and 220 volt spa?
Many of our mid-size and smaller units can run on 110 volt electricity. The heater and jet pump circuit are shared, when the heater is on the jet pump is off and vice versa. These units are very energy efficient and the cost to wire up initially can be much lower or not even needed (if you have an existing circuit available).
220 Spas have larger heaters and in many cases multiple jet pumps thereby requiring a 220 electrical service. All of our larger spas (5 person and up) are 220 volt models. Please note, almost all of our spas have the option to be wired 220 volt thereby allowing the heater and jet pump/pumps to operate simultaneously.
-
I understand the spa needs an electrical service of some sort, who does that?
We do! We ourselves are electrical contractors and/or we'll professionally arrange it for you. You just select the spa model and we'll handle the rest.
-
What are some of the health benefits of a spa?
This is a long list, here is a sampling:
Sleep disorders, the National Sleep Foundation endorses spas
Arthritis sufferers find relief in a spa, the Arthritis Foundation endorses spas
Stress relief. There is no better place to unwind after a long day.
Back Pain. The weightless effect of the water and our patented Moto-Massage Jet moving up and down the length of your back is like having your own personal masseuse.
